What Scrum role is the best fit for me?

Product Owner

Let’s say you have a background in business and you’re interested in defining the vision and strategy for a product.

As a Product Owner, you would be responsible for communicating with stakeholders to gather their feedback and input, and then prioritizing the features that are most important for the success of the product.

For example, if you were the Product Owner for a social media platform, you might prioritize features that improve user engagement and retention, such as personalized content recommendations or social sharing features.

Scrum Master

If you enjoy facilitating meetings and working with a team to help them achieve their goals, the role of Scrum Master might be a good fit for you.

As a Scrum Master, you would be responsible for organizing and leading the daily Scrum meetings, as well as identifying and removing any obstacles that are preventing the team from making progress.

For example, you might work with the team to identify and resolve a technical issue that’s causing delays in the development process, or you might coach team members on effective communication and collaboration.

Developers (Development Team)

If you have a strong technical background and enjoy working in a team environment, the role of Development Team member might be the best fit for you.

As a member of the Development Team, you would be responsible for developing and testing the product increment at the end of each sprint.

For example, if you were a developer on a mobile app development team, you might be responsible for writing code for specific features of the app, such as the login screen or the user profile page. You would also work closely with other team members, such as testers and designers, to ensure that the product is high-quality and meets the user’s needs.
